General Guidelines for Chegg:
Division of solution:
1. Title.
2. Introduction
3. Explanation
4. Final Answer.
Title:
Title has two main parts.
1. File name. (BOOK-CHAPTER-SOLUTION)
2. Authoring details- AUTHOR ID,
VERTICAL BAR,and DATE.(AID|dd/mm/yyyy)
The vertical bar can be inserted by pressing shift + \. |.\ is generally present above
the enter key.
After title, there should be a delimiter.
A delimiter can be inserted by using ‘---’ and then enter.
So, an ideal title section will look like this:
NOTE: The space between the text and delimiter should be always there.
SOLUTION
Step1: introduction.
After putting delimiter, create a blank line by tapping ENTER.
1. The step 1 of the solution must be the basic idea of the question.
2. It should be the summary of the solution and the concept which is being used.
3. The given information in the question and the formula to be used should be
given here.
4. The given information can be adjusted in explanation in the complicated
calculation questions.
5. Put a delimiter after the introduction is complete.
6. An ideal introduction consists of one paragraph having at least 2 sentences and
3 lines.
Step2:
Explanation.
1. This section must include accurate explanation for the question.
2. The explanation should start from basic concept include the approach to solve
the question and gradually moving to the complexity according to the level of
question.
3. Any graph, picture, equation etc. should be include in this section.
4. To divide the explanation in steps, use delimiters between two consecutive
steps.
5. Put a delimiter after the explanation ends.
6. An ideal explanation consists of two to three paragraph (for conceptual
questions) and one paragraph with all the required calculations and diagrams (for
numerical based).
7. This section can be skipped in questions having multiple parts such as match
the following type question. (RARELY).
In case of subparts.
1. Each subpart must be included in a separate step and the name of the subpart
should be same as in the problem.
2. For example: Do not type (A) in place of (a).
An ideal explanation looks like this:
Incase of MCQs.
In the explanation part, the reasons for the incorrect answers in one paragraph should be
explained first.
After explaining the reason for incorrect answer, write a sentence about incorrect options.
Put a delimiter.
Explain the reason for correct answer.
Put a delimiter.
Write a statement about incorrect answer.
An ideal explanation for MCQ looks like this:
Step 3:
Final answer.
1. The final answer should be a sentence in itself.
2. It should be taken into consideration that if student does not read the
explanation, the final answer should provide the essential information in brief.
3. The approach used to solve the question and the steps used to conclude the
final answer should not be added.
4. The one-word final answer should be enclosed in a box in mathtype.
5. An ideal final answer is one liner and maximally it can extend to one
paragraph.
Or
An ideal solution looks like this.

Pictures and Graphs.
1. Use specialized software to make the diagrams and graphs.
2. All the dimension, axis, and labelling should be clearly marked.
3. Excel can be used to create tables and some graphs, the excel files should be
included with the solution file, with the same name as of the solution file it is
inserted in.
4. All the Pictures/ Graphs/ chemical structures should be labeled and the
description should be written in the image.
For example:
DON’T
1. Single step answer is not acceptable.
2. Do not copy the sentences from question or text book.

symbols/ signs as per the book.
2. Do not italicize or bold the definition or anything to highlight.
3. Excel used of creating the graph should be attached with the solutions and

solution should be present in different sheets within same excel.
4. Attach any paint file or other graph file with the solution.
5. Answer should be in instructional tone. For example: avoid using the ‘to
suggest’ ‘to substitute’ or ‘suggesting’ or ‘substituting’. Instead use suggest, or
