Engineering Flow Analysis

The number of cyclone stages in a preheater kiln system is determined by factors like the throughput and moisture content of raw materials and fuels. More stages are needed for higher throughputs or moisture contents to adequately dry the materials using the remaining exhaust gas heat. Pressure drops are generally lower for newer 6-stage designs compared to older 4-stage designs. Higher numbers of stages like 6 or even more may be used for very large throughput systems.
