EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 1 S-2023

AN EXECUTIVE ORDER RECONSTITUTING THE BARANGAY COUNCIL FOR


THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN (BCPC).

WHEREAS, the state is committed to protecting and upholding the rights of children as
manifested through the passage of Republic Act 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against
Child Abuse, exploitation and Discrimination Act;

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to ensure the full implementation of the rights of every child to
live in a society that offers or guarantees him/her safety, health, good morale environment, and
facilities for his wholesome development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JUNBIT D. BOYONAS, Punong Barangay, by virtue of the powers


vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. Reconstitution and Composition of the Barangay Council for the Protection of
Children. Pursuant to PD 6D3 otherwise known as the Child Youth Welfare Code, DILG MC
90-04 DILG MC 91-57, there is hereby reconstituted a Barangay Council for the Protection of
Children to be composed of the following:

a) JUNBIT D. BOYONAS Punong Barangay Chairperson


b) JAYBEE R. PAYUMO Barangay Kagawad Co-Chairman
c) NILDA B. ABUCAY Barangay Kagawad Chair. on Women &
Family
d) JUDITH O. LIM Barangay Nutrition Scholar Member
e) BELMA B. CENIZA Barangay Health Worker Member
f) SHARLIE YAP Barangay Chief Tanod Member

g) BUENAFE D. BASINILLO TIS School Principal/DepEd Member

h) STEPHANE BARREDO SK Chairperson Member

i) JEAN MARYLL P. ENTERINA Children’s Representative Member

j) LUCILITA B. CENIZA FPTA President Member

k) WILFREDO ATES NGO’s Representative Member

l) FRANCIS BESINA Faith-Based Representative Member

Section 2. Function of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children. The BCPC shall
have the following functions:

1. Take steps to prevent juvenile delinquency and assist parents of children with behavioral
problems so that they can get expert advice;
2. Adopt measures for the health of children;
3. Encourage the proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of parents and
provide learning opportunities on the adequate rearing of children and positive parent-
child relationship;
4. Establish and maintain a database on children in the barangay;
5. Advocate for the passage of barangay resolutions/ordinances responsive to child-related
issues and concerns and ensure the inclusion of children’s programs in the executive
agenda; and
6. Protect and assist children in need of special protection and refer cases filed against child
abusers to proper agencies/institutions.

This order shall take effect immediately.

Done this 1st day of February 2023 at Taguitic, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.
