3is Hell Burning Today - 092727

1) The document discusses whether hell is burning currently or if punishment will occur later. It argues that hellfire is not upon the wicked now, but that punishment will happen in the future, specifically at the resurrection and last judgment. 2) Key evidence provided includes biblical passages indicating the wicked are being reserved for future punishment rather than experiencing it presently. Additionally, the resurrection of both the righteous and wicked is described as occurring on the "last day." 3) The concept of hell discussed in the Old Testament (sheol) refers to the grave rather than a place of eternal torment. Punishment and reward will be meted out after death when Jesus returns to judge the living and the dead.

Is Hell Burning today?

This subject is one of the most fascinating subjects we can dwell upon. We know there is a
reward for those who receive the grace of God in this life and there is also punishment for
the ungodly. In this booklet we shall dwell much on the question is hell burning right now, if
it is where is it located and how can we escape hell fire.

2Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve
the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Thus here it is telling us that the wicked are being reserved for the day of punishment,
showing us that hell fire is not upon the wicked now.

Mathew 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in
the end of this world. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather
out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them
into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

John 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the
last day.

The wicked will burn later but not know and this will happen at the last day, because now
the wicked and righteous both are being reserved some to torment and some to eternal Joy
with God.

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

The giving of punishment or reward will happen at the resurrection of the last day.

Deuteronomy 32:22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell,
and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the
mountains.

2Samuel 22:6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

Job 13:14 Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?

H7585 sh'owl (sheh-ole') (or shol {sheh-ole'}) n-f.

1. Hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranean retreat), including its accessories and
inmates [from H7592]

KJV: grave, hell, pit.

In the Old Testament the word used for Hell is sh’owl and this word means the world of the
dead which is the grave and the pit and this word appear 37 times in the Old Testament.
Thus you see that the word hell as used in the Old Testament was sh’owl meaning the
grave.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

1|Page
Thus it is appointed once for us to live but after that we are judged (an assessment of our
lives), those who accepted Jesus are accredited with His good deeds but those who chose
Satan are found wanting when they are weighed in the balances.

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also
which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

When Jesus comes there will be a special resurrection of those who pierced Him and those
who spat and beat upon Him on earth. (Note all the other wicked will still remain
dead/asleep)

1Thesalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to
meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man
according as his work shall be.

When Jesus is going to come all the righteous who were in the graves will be resurrected
and they will be caught up in the air to meet the lord, then those of the righteous who will
be alive at the coming of the lord Jesus will also be caught up to be with the lord.

1 Corinthians 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the
heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the
earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh
and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the
dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put
on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall
have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be
brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death,
where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the
strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in
the Lord.

Verse 48-50 he is saying that we are mortals and as such we cannot inherit the kingdom of
heaven.

Verse 51 thus he is now saying not all of us will sleep (death) but that we shall be changed.

Verse 52 thus to the dead (died with faith in JESUS) no matter how they died their next
thought will be in the presence of Jesus, thus it says in the twinkling of an eye, thus the dead
in Christ will be raise with immortal bodies, and those alive (righteous) at the coming of
Jesus will also be changed from mortal bodies to immortal bodies.

Verse 53 thus it talks about the change that will happen in that our mortal bodies will be
changed to glorious bodies.

2|Page
54 thus because of this those who have been changed will have had victory over death
because Jesus has given them victory over death.

Verse 55 thus they will say O death where is thy victory oh grave where is thy sting.

Verse 56 “the sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.” Thus because of sin
(breaking the law) death entered this world (because the penalty of sin is death, and sin is
breaking the law), thus in effect the strength of sin is the law because all have broken it thus
death on all.

2Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and
to be present with the Lord.

thus to those that died 2000 or 3000 or 200 years ago they would have died doing
something but their next thought will be in the presence of the lord, meaning to them they
will not even feel that 2000, 3000 or 200 years passed but to them it will be as the same
moment they died it is the same time they are appearing before the lord because in the
grave they knew nothing.

Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and
have the keys of hell and of death.

Act 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One
to see corruption. 31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul
was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption

G86 ᾅδης hades (hah"-dace) n.

1.
(Properly) unseen

2.
(commonly) "Hades," the place (state) of departed souls

[from G1 (as negative particle) and G1492]

KJV: grave. Thus the word used for Hell in the above texts was Hades which means
the place of the dead or departed/the grave (dead souls/people) and Hades appear 9
times in the bible.

The bible says Jesus when has the keys of hell and death, but let us look at the word that was
used in the original we see that it is Hades, which means the grave (not some place of hell or
demons as some assume). Thus Jesus by resurrecting has the keys to hell (grave) and in this
case Hades which means the grave thus at the resurrection he gives the righteous dead His
victory so that they may awake.

2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the
spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

While the righteous dead are being resurrected with the glory of God and they are being
caught up together into the air with the righteous that were alive, the wicked will be
destroyed by glory of Jesus.

Mat 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week,
came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. 2 And, behold, there was a
great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled
back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his
raiment white as snow: 4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead
men. 5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye
seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the
place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the
dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told
you. 8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to
bring his disciples word.

Mar 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the
four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the
tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven
with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the
other.

The bible records that at the resurrection of Jesus only one angel sat on the tomb of Jesus
and rolled the stone away and the gauds fell as dead men, now know this Jesus is coming in
His full glory with the glory of all the angels of heaven, thus the wicked will be destroyed by
the glory of Jesus coming.

2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens
shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth
also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things
shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and
godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the
heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein
dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be
diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

The bible records that when Jesus comes the heavens (atmosphere) pass away with a great
noise and the elements will melt with fervent heat and everything in the earth will be burnt
up, thus from this description when Jesus comes there will be no more continuity of life, the
condition of the earth will be such that it cannot sustain life.

Rev 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain
and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great
men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman,
and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;16 And
said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on
the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and
who shall be able to stand?

Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

4|Page
The wicked will try to hide from the glory of Jesus but they will do run in vain and the glory
of Jesus will be as a consuming fire to them and they will all be slain by the brightness of His
coming!

Thus when Jesus comes to take us with Him to heaven there will no person alive on earth.

Proverbs 1:23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make
known my words unto you. 24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out
my hand, and no man regarded; 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would
none of my reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind;
when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not
answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: 29 For that they hated
knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 30 They would none of my counsel:
they despised all my reproof. 31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and
be filled with their own devices. 32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and
the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Pro 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of
evil.

There are some who think they will accept Jesus as He comes in the clouds of heaven but the
bible clearly states that the case of all those who think like that is hopeless thus those who
want to be saved must accept Him now because when He comes He is coming to reward
each as his own works have been.

Jer 25:33 And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto
the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they
shall be dung upon the ground.

(Wicked who were alive at Jesus coming plus that small company that was resurrected to see
Him because it pierced and mocked Him will all be slain by the brightness of His coming). The
slain of the lord will be from one end of the earth to the other showing that all the wicked
will have been destroyed at the coming of Jesus.

Jeremiah 4:23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens,
and they had no light .

In describing the state of the earth after Jesus comes it says the earth was without form,
void and the sky will have no light (see Genesis 1:1, 2), thus the form of the earth will go
back to the way it was in Genesis 1:2.

Let us look at the Hell fire as explained in the bible!

Revelation 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the
bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old
serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Verse 1 here we see Satan being bound to earth by a great chain, what happened was that
all the righteous are in heaven (those where alive or asleep), and all the wicked are dead,
Satan is restricted to this earth thus he feels like a great chain around him, but this is not a
literal chain, but rather a chain of circumstances (see also Ezekiel 7:23).

G12 ἄβυσσος abussos (ab'-us-sos) n.

1.
depthless

2.
(specially) infernal "abyss"

[from G1 (as a negative particle) and a variation of G1037]

KJV: deep, (bottomless) pit the word bottomless bit means abyss.

Genesis 1vs 2

H8415 thowm (teh-home') (or thom {teh-home'}) n-e.

1. an abyss (as a surging mass of water), especially the deep (the main sea or the
subterranean water-supply) [(usually feminine) from H1949]

KJV: deep (place), depth. So you see that the root word of bottomless (abussos) pit as used
in Greek is the same for the deep (thowm) as used in Hebrew, thus this is all pointing to the
condition of the earth in that it will go back to being void and formless and Satan and his
devils will be bound here on earth for a thousand years (this is because all the earth has no
living person thus their work of deception will cease for a thousand year, because there is no
one to tempt or manipulate the devils feel bound).

Jud 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he
hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Here the book of Jude explains that the angels who rebelled are bound (for a thousand
years) and these chains (of circumstances) are there to reserve the devil and his angels for
the Day of Judgment.

2Pe 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and
delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

G5020 ταρταρόω tartaroo (tar-tar-oh'-o) v.

1. to incarcerate in the Abyss "Tatarus" to await final judgement and eternal torment

[from Tartarus (the deepest dungeon of Hades, known as the Abyss)] KJV: cast
down to hell

Here the word tartaroo is used for hell, thus Satan and his angels will be in a tartaroo (a void,
dark earth) for a thousand years, and the word abyss has been used symbolically because
the abyss means a hole with no end thus it has been used to explain the state of Satan and
his angels in that they will be restricted to the earth and they will roam this earth for a
thousand years waiting for their final judgement.

Revelation 20: And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the
bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old
serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into
the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the

6|Page
nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed
a little season. 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto
them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the
word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had
received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with
Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years
were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first
resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and
of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. 7 And when the thousand years are
expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

Verse 1-2 thus Satan will be bound for a thousand years by a chain of circumstances in which
he can deceive anyone no longer, and then he is thrown into the abyss meaning he will be
waiting for his coming judgement. Verse 3 here it explains further that the devil is bound
for a thousand years in that he will not be able to deceive those nations (because there is no
one alive on earth), but that at the end of the thousand years Satan will be loosed for a little
season (space of time).

Verse 4 (see also Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if
the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Know ye
not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?) the saints
live and reign with Jesus in heaven for a thousand years while Satan is here on earth for a
thousand years. As we will see in a later Chapter, the saints participate in the Judgement of
the wicked, this Judgement is just an evaluation/assessment of the lives of the wicked and
Christ as a fair judge lets the righteous to review the records of the sinners until all the
universe affirms their sentence and degree of punishment and that Christ is indeed a
righteous Judge and that those that were lost were lost after they refuse to accept the truth.

Verse 5 says the rest of the dead did not live for a thousand years, and that this is the first
resurrection, it’s just a matter of deduction in that the first resurrection all the righteous
were caught up to meet the lord thus those who are left (or the rest of the dead are sinners).

Verse 6 and it further goes on to say that blessed and holy is he that took part in the first
resurrection on these the second death has no power and it is these that reign with Jesus a
thousand years in heaven while Satan is bound here on earth for a thousand years.

Verse 7 thus it then says again that after the thousand years have expired Satan will be
loosed from his prison.

What will happen after the thousand years are over?

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my
Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a
place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you
unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

After the thousand years are over, all the saved will go into the New Jerusalem which Jesus is
preparing for us and then will start coming to the earth.

Zechariah 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the
midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be
taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into

7|Page
captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the
LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.4 And
his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the
east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward
the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove
toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Verse 1-3 as the New Jerusalem descends the lord Jesus will call out to the wicked to make
them come out of the grave and they will resurrect with the same bodies they had when
they went to the grave.

Verse 4 (see also Acts 1:11, 12) as the angel said this same Jesus will in so like manner come
thus Jesus will touch his feet thus the mount of olives will cleave to the east and towards the
west thus forming a great valley

Verse 5 thus on this great valley will be formed the foundation of the New Jerusalem.

Revelation 20:7-11

Verse 7 thus because the wicked have been resurrected Satan resumes his work of deceiving
thus he is freed from his chain of circumstance.

Verse 8 the book of revelation is full of symbols and imagery but most of what it contains is
things from other books. (See also Ezekiel 38:2 and Ezekiel 39:1) thus as you saw Gog and
Magog were God’s enemies in the old testament times thus this is just showing us that these
resurrected people died with a heart that was decided against Jesus, thus as newly
resurrected their hearts are still against Him. Thus as Satan is loosed from his chain of
circumstances (because now the people that follow his biding are alive) he deceives that
they can take over the city, because they are many (imagine all the wicked from the time of
Adam till today).

Verse 9 thus they surrounded the New Jerusalem to overthrow those inside and fire comes
from God and devours them or burns them. (Notice all this is happening on this earth’s
surface not some purgatory or in the center of the earth).

Verse 10 thus the devil is cast into the fire and he too is burned (notice the devil is not in
charge of the fire but God is). But then the bible says the devil shall be tormented forever
and ever what does this means?

Does hell fire last eternity?

Jude 1:7 “even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving
themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example,
suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

Thus here it explains one thing to us that Sodom and Gomorrah suffered eternal fire

2 Peter 2:6 “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them
with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly.”

Thus Sodom and Gomorrah are example of eternal fire, you will see that they turned to ash,
what this means is that the fire does its work on the wicked and destroys them to ash and
the consequences are eternal

8|Page
(irreversible), they call it eternal fire because its consequences are eternal.

But what does it mean when they say the smoke of their torment rises up forever?

Jonah 2:6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about
me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

Jonah says the earth was with her bars about me forever but

Jonah 1:17 says he was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights? Thus forever
means until it is gone in Jonah’s case it meant three days

1 Samuel 1:22 But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until
the child is weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and
there abide forever.

Here if you follow the story you will see that it says Hanna the mother of Samuel dedicated
Samuel to serve in the temple forever but he is not in the temple till today forever in his case
was his whole life time.

Exodus 12:17 “And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day
have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in
your generations by an ordinance forever.”

The observance feasts were to be kept forever but forever in this case was until the cross.

Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and
all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the
LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But unto you that fear my
name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and
grow up as calves of the stall. 3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes
under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. 4
Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all
Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

Thus Revelation 20:9-10 the wicked people together with Satan will burn forever until they
are gone, because the book of Malachi records that the day of the lord will come as an oven,
in that both root (Satan the originator of sin) and branches (the sinners) will be burned up
not only that but that the wicked will be ash under the soles of your feet, thus the wicked
will burn forever till they are gone.

1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his
Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Only those that have Jesus are the ones that will have eternal life,

if the wicked burn for the rest of eternity then that means that they are getting the same
reward as the righteous, but this is not so only those who are saved will get to live eternally.

Mar 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Isa 66:24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have
transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched;
and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

9|Page
Other texts that speak on the same : Mathew 5:22, 29, 30 Mathew 10:28 Mathew 18:9
Mathew 23:15, 33 Mark 9:43, 45, 47 Luke 12:25 James 3:6

What does it mean their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched

G1067 γέεννα geenna (gheh'-en-nah) n.

1.
valley of (the son of) Hinnom

2.
ge-henna (or Ge-Hinnom), a valley of Jerusalem,

{used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment}

the original word for hell in all the above is geenna which was a physical place
outside Jerusalem where the children of Israel would burn things they discarded and
this was a continual fire that was always kept going.

Jesus was trying to teach them that when the Judgement of punishment shall be carried out
it shall be like hell (geenna) which was a place outside Jerusalem which was kept continually
burning so that the Israelites could throw in their rubbish in and keep the city clean, and
thus in this heap dump the fire was always going and worms would feast on the rotten
things that were thrown there, thus the fire that will come from God will be unquenchable in
that no one will be able to extinguish it until it has done its job, just like taking a paper and
lighting it you can leave the fire unquenched and it will continue to burn the paper to ash
after that it will go out.

Jeremiah 17: But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a
burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a
fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be
quenched.

Here God said that He would burn the palaces in Jerusalem and that fire will not be
quenched.

2 Chronicles 36:19 And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem,
and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof. 20
And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were
servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia. 21 To fulfil the word of
the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as
she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

Here we see that the armies came and burned Jerusalem and the bible say what happened
was a fulfilment of what was spoken through Jeremiah, thus we see that the unquenchable
fire is really inextinguishable until it has burnt everything and done its work, thus we see
that as the palaces in Jerusalem were burnt with unquenchable fire so the wicked will be
burnt with unquenchable fire, meaning the fire will be inextinguishable until it has burnt the
wicked to ash.

Luke 12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord
shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? 43

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 44 Of a truth I
say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. 45 But and if that servant say
in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and
maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 The lord of that servant will come in a
day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in
sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant, which
knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be
beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes,
shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much
required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Those that knew more truth will be burnt for a longer time that those who knew just a little
truth and the devil will burn the longest because he caused the fall of 1/3 of the angels of
heaven plus the fall of the human race.

Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life
eternal.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(See also Romans 5:12) because of Adam’s sin death came and we all die the first death
(accept the righteous who are alive at the coming of Jesus), thus we sleep in the grave, and
to those who were in Jesus they receive eternal life, but to the wicked they get everlasting
punishment.

(Note that it does not say everlasting punishing but rather punishment), thus the
consequences of the fire will be everlasting or eternal because Romans 6:23 says that the
wages of sin is death (the second death) but the gift of God is eternal life (thus the righteous
will stay with God forever or eternally, if you look at God he was, and is and forever shall be,
because now the righteous have immortality forever in their case will be from eternity to
eternity with no end).

Mathew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but
rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

G1067 γέεννα geenna (gheh'-en-nah) n.

1.
valley of (the son of) Hinnom

2.
ge-henna (or Ge-Hinnom), a valley of Jerusalem, the word hell here is in the original
a place of burning geenna, thus the things would be burnt to ash and the smoke
kept rising “forever” thus what happened here is a parallel of what will happen to
the wicked after the 1000yrs are over

Here there are some who say your body dies and then your soul is the one that continues to
burn but the bible is very consistence in that it says that both soul and body will be burnt up
in hell

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone,
where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever
and ever. 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the

earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the
dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was
opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were
written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were
in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged
every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was
cast into the lake of fire.

Verse 15 thus those who were outside the city were cast into the lake of fire because they
were not sanctified by the blood of the lamb (see Revelation 21:27).

Verse 14 thus it says hell (Hades the grave) and death were cast into the lake of fire meaning
that those things were no longer going to exist.

Verse 13 here it says the sea, hell (Hades the grave) and death (1 Corinthians 15:26) gave up
the death that were therein.

Verse 12 thus it says that at that time there will be Judgement meaning the sinners will see
their own condition and will know that the savior did all He could to save them but that their
own Corse has led them to ruin thus will they say (see Jeremiah 8:20)

Verse 16 and thus the fire will destroy sin and sinners together, and this is called the second
death and there is no coming back from the second death.

Hebrews 2:9 but we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering
of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for
every man.

Jesus tasted death for everyone he took the death that was to be experienced by us sinners
thus to those who are saved they shall not take part in the second death because Jesus took
it for them.

Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed,
into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into
everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. Here God says that He did not prepare
the lake of fire for humans but for the devil and his angel, it will be your choice to choose to
be in the lake of fire.

Nah 1:9 What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not
rise up the second time.

And from this God will destroy the devil and all those who have chosen to follow Him and
from this experiment of sin there shall never be affliction or rebellion again.

Isaiah 28:21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the
valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his
strange act.

God destroying the wicked is a strange act which was not in His plan, but His redeeming love
reached out to Lucifer in heaven but he rejected and the same redeeming love was poured

12 | P a g e
out to all of us humans but many still denied the love of God thus God has to blot them out
of existence because in rejecting God they are a harm to the order of the universe.

All this God does to cleanse the universe of Sin he does not do it as an arbitrary ruler but
rather a loving father because He knows if He lets sin continue it will affect the happiness of
his children.

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more
death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things
are passed away.

Thus God will wipe away the tears (of those who lost their loved ones to sin/ or those who
struggled with sin in this world). And there shall be no more crying for all things would have
passed away.

But today

Deu 30:15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; 16 In that I
command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his
commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and
the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. 17 But if
thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship
other gods, and serve them; 18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and
that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to
possess it. 19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before
you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed
may live: 20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice,
and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou
mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and
to Jacob, to give them.

Today there is life and there is death. God cannot force you, but as you look to the cross may
the life that was given to ransom you from death draw you to God the father of us all. It is
our prayer that as you read this message God melts your heart to accept the price paid on
the cross and to live a victorious life.
