CEE Unit 5
1. 昨天半夜 Robert 看見兩個小偷闖入鄰居家。他立刻報警。
At midnight yesterday, Robert saw two thieves breaking into his neighbor's house . He called the police
right away .
2. 這個機車騎士闖紅燈,撞上停在路邊的公車。
The motorcyclist ran through the red light and hit the bus parked on the roadside.
3. 綁匪綁架富商,要求兩千萬贖金。
The kidnapper(s) took the rich businessman away, demanding a ransom of twenty million dollars.
4. 這位演講者的演說很冗長且無聊,以致於學生們都覺得失望。
This speaker's speech was so lengthy and boring that the students all felt disappointed.

CEE Unit 6
1. Jane 在購物中心遇到她前男友。
Jane bumped into her ex-boyfriend at the shopping mall.

He failed his business and went bankrupt. However, he wasn't discouraged and hoped that he

The designated driver can not only take you home safely, but also avoid any danger of drunk driving.

Though I got home half an hour later, I felt that I had done something meaningful.
CEE Unit 7
1. 她已經罹患了流行性感冒。她後悔沒去接種流感疫苗。
She has come down with the flu. She regretted not receiving the flu vaccine.
2. 醫生建議他要少吃肉多走路。
The doctor suggested that he (should) eat less meat and walk more.
3. 現代生活很忙,有些人很難找到時間健康地飲食。
Modern life is busy, and it's hard for some people to find time to have a healthy meal.
4. 這種生活型態導致越來越多的肥胖、心臟病等問題。
This kind of lifestyle leads to increasing problems of obesity, heart diseases, and so on.

Many school children are overweight. For one thing, they eat too much junk food. For another, lack of
exercise is one of the causes which make them overweight.
CEE Unit 8
1. 健康是所有成功和快樂的基礎。
Health is the foundation of all success and happiness.
2. 長期處在壓力下對人的健康有害。
Staying under stress for a long time would do harm to one's health.
3. 但有方法使壓力不至於影響我們的身心健康。
However, there are ways to prevent stress from affecting our physical and mental health.
4. 為了保護視力,你最好每天睡前把隱形眼鏡消毒一下。
For the sake of vision protection, you'd better disinfect your contact lenses every day before going to
bed.
5. 同時,在你看書時眼睛和書本保持一個適當的距離是很重要的。
At the same time, it is important to keep an appropriate distance between your eyes and the book while
you are reading.
