Math

Angles A and B in figure 1 are adjacent supplementary angles that add up to 180°, while in figure 2, they are non-adjacent supplementary angles also summing to 180°. Both figures have angle A measuring 100° and angle B measuring 80°. The relationship between the angles is defined by the quantification of rotation between their sides.

Tasks/Questions

Question 1. Describe angles A and B in figures 1 and 2.

Question 2. What are the measures of the angles in both figures?
Question 3. What is the sum of the measures of angles A and B?
Question 4. What is the relationship between the angles with respect to its measures?
Question 1. Describe angles A and B in figures 1 and 2.

Answer:
Angles A and B in figure 1 are two angles that add up to 180 ̊, they share common
side and vertex. They are called adjacent supplementary angles.
In figure 2, angles A and B are two separate angles that add up to 180 ̊, but they do
not share a common side or a common vertex. They are called non-adjacent
supplementary angles.

Question 2. What are the measures of the angles in both figures?

Answer:
Both figures have the same measurements of angle A and angle B.
Figure 1 = angle A = 100 ̊, angle B = 80 ̊
Figure 2 = angle A = 100 ̊, angle B = 80 ̊
Question 3. What is the sum of the measures of angles A and B?

Answer:
The sum measurement of angles A and B is 180 ̊.

Question 4. What is the relationship between the angles with respect to its measures?

Answer:
The relationship between the angles with its measures is that the measure quantifies
the rotation between the two sides of the angle.
