Without Regrouping

1. Add the thousandths: 3 + 4 = 7 thousandths

1. 5 2 3 2. Add the hundredths: 2 + 1 = 3 hundredths

+ 5. 3 1 4 3. Add the tenths: 5 + 3 = 8 tenths

6. 8 3 7 4. Place the dot.

5. Add the ones: 1 + 5 = 6 ones

With Regrouping
1. Add the thousandths: 5 + 9 = 14 thousandths
Write 4 in the thousandths place and carry over
1 hundredth.

Write 2 in the hundredths place and carry over

one.

3. 1 2 0 Slash 1 and write 0 in the tenths place and 11 in the
hundredths place.

3. Zero tenths, regroup the ones. Slash 3 and write 2
