Introduction
• Typhoid Fever is an acute infectious disease
caused by Salmonella typhi.
• Common in areas with poor sanitation.
• Presents with prolonged fever, abdominal
symptoms, and systemic involvement.

Etiology and Pathogenesis
• Causative Agent: Salmonella typhi
• Transmission: Feco-oral route
• Incubation Period: 7–14 days
• Pathophysiology:
• - Bacteria enter intestines → bloodstream →

• - Systemic toxemia and immune response
