US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor on Monday noted that India is set to join Pax Silica, a US-led initiative to build a secure, innovation-driven silicon supply chain.This move is seen as a significant step toward strengthening India-US ties, particularly in high-tech domains such as semiconductors and AI.Mentioning the development in a post on X, Gor wrote, "Pleased to share that India will be invited to join Pax Silica, a U.S.-led strategic initiative to build a secure, resilient, and innovation-driven silicon supply chain. As the world adopts new technology, it is essential that India and the United States work hand-in-hand together."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said India and Germany have agreed to expand their partnership beyond traditional trade into strategic sectors, describing the relationship as a “limitless” economic partnership.

Speaking at the India–Germany CEOs Forum in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Modi said German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s choice of India for his first Asia visit underscored Berlin’s trust in New Delhi and India’s central role in Germany’s diversification strategy.

The Prime Minister announced that the two sides exchanged a Joint Declaration of Intent in defence, aimed at enabling co-innovation and co-production with clear policy support for companies. He added that new avenues of cooperation would also open up in the space sector.

Modi said both countries have agreed to transform trusted partnerships into technology partnerships, deepening collaboration in critical and emerging technologies, including semiconductors, power electronics, biotech, fintech, pharmaceuticals, quantum computing, and cybersecurity.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to shortly hear a petition filed by the Trinamool Congress (TMC), challenging the ongoing voter roll revision process and alleging large-scale arbitrariness and procedural violations.

The plea, moved through TMC MP Derek O’Brien, claims that around 58 lakh voters were illegally omitted from the draft electoral rolls, with deletions carried out without prior notice or personal hearings. The party has also sought a stay on the publication of the final electoral rolls, scheduled for February 14.

Among its contentions, the TMC has alleged that the Election Commission issued critical instructions to field officers through WhatsApp messages or oral directions, without proper written notifications, circulars, or statutory orders. The matter is expected to come up for hearing shortly before the apex court.

The PSLV-C62/EOS-N1 mission would initially deploy the Earth Observation Satellite built by Thailand and the United Kingdom, followed by 13 other co-passenger satellites into the sun-synchronous orbit around 17 minutes after lift-off. Subsequently, the separation of the fourth stage of the rocket (PS4) and demonstration of Kestrel Initial Technology Demonstrator (KID) capsule, weighing about 25 kg, belonging to a Spanish startup, is expected to take place in over 2 hours after the launch. According to ISRO, scientists would restart the fourth stage of the rocket to demonstrate the KID capsule to make its re-entry into the earth atmosphere. For this to occur, the scientists would re-start the fourth stage to de-boost and enter a re-entry trajectory, and this will be followed by the KID capsule separation. Both the PS4 stage and the KID capsule (which will be the last co-passenger) will re-enter the Earth's atmosphere and make a splashdown in the South Pacific Ocean, ISRO said. PSLV has completed 63 flights so far, including the ambitious Chandrayaan-1, Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), and Aditya-L1 mission. The previous launch of a PSLV rocket, was the PSLV C-61 Earth Observation Satellite 09 mission launched on May 18, 2025. It could not be accomplished due to an 'observation' in the third stage of the rocket.

The ISRO successfully launched the PSLV rocket that will place an earth observation satellite along with 15 other co-passenger satellites into orbit, marking the space agency's first launch of the year. "PSLV-C62 will carry EOS-N1 and 15 co-passenger satellites. EOS-N1 and 14 co-passengers are planned for injection into Sun Synchronous Orbit; the KID capsule is planned for a re-entry trajectory," the space agency said.

At least four persons were killed after their four-wheeler hit a truck in Jharkhand's Garhwa district, police said on Monday. The incident happened at the Bel Champa area late on Sunday night, they said.

"All four bodies were retrieved from the damaged car by using a gas cutter. The impact of the crash was so huge that the four-wheeler went out of control and dashed into a house located on the roadside," Garhwa police station's in-charge Sunil Kumar Tiwari said. The bodies have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem, and the matter is being investigated, he said.
