Vaibhav Suryavanshi can create history and he is only 299 runs away from becoming the fastest batsman to achieve a world record in T20s. Suryavanshi, the youngest to score a century in T20 cricket, plays for RR in IPL. He joined the franchise in the IPL 2025 mega-auction and became the youngest debutant in the league's history during the season. Suryavanshi has also created multiple records in U19 cricket.

Should Suryavanshi score 299 runs in his next five T20 innings, he will become the joint-fastest batsman to score 1000 T20 runs. Brad Hodge and Shaun Marsh presently share the top spot. The former Australian batsmen took 23 innings each to complete 1000 runs. Suryavanshi will become the sole owner of this record if he scores 299 runs in four innings. Matthew Hayden and Sabawoon Davizi share the second spot. They took 24 innings each to score 1000 T20 runs.

Among the Indians, Devdutt Padikkal tops this list. The left-handed batsman completed 1000 T20 runs in 25 innings. Suryavanshi will have his task cut out in IPL 2026 and he will have to play some big knocks to achieve this milestone.
