Nederlands: Portret van Willem Bilderdijk, dichter en geschiedschrijver. Ten halven lijve, zittend aan een tafel waarop hij met zijn rechterelleboog leunt, de linkerhand in de zij. Op tafel liggen boeken (waaronder 'Homeri Opera') en papieren. Tegen de achterwand een boekenkast waar een gordijn deels voor hangt.
