Critics Consensus

Bombastic and intentionally gross, Repo! The Genetic Opera has a unique style but lacks the wit and substance to be involving.

It’s me! R This movie isn’t for everyone. WTS I thought it was a great option for something different with familiar faces (including the one falling off via PH)) but it’s worth watching. There’s a lot to like about this low budget film with a great cast. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/25 Full Review Kevin P A guilty pleasure gory rock opera that’s charmingly messy that feels like it just needed one more draft into becoming a cult classic. Half of the movie is very stylish and catchy while the other half feels kind of dull and going through the motions. A fun dark concept that I wish could be remade since there’s still plenty of theatre love put into this despite its flaws. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review
