Fargo creator/executive producer Noah Hawley is continuing his relationship with FX, signing a new three-year overall deal with FX Productions and FX Networks. Under the deal, Hawley will remain creator/showrunner of Fargo, while developing new projects.
The new deal comes on the heels of Fargo‘s three Golden Globe nominations today, including Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. It also received acting noms for Kirsten Dunst and Patrick Wilson.
“In a remarkably short time, Noah has proven himself to be one of the best writers and showrunners in television with the stunning, back-to-back success of the Fargo franchise,” said John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions, who made the announcement today. “He loves to challenge himself creatively and has a gift for making complex stories engaging and entertaining. We are excited to continue to work closely with Noah and offer all the support he needs to fully realize his vision for these new projects.”
In its first year, Fargo won three Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Miniseries, as well as two Golden Globe awards, including Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. The current installment concludes December 14.
Hawley has several other projects in development including the X-Men-themed pilot Legion for FX and FX Prods. He also is writing/exec producing Cat’s Cradle, a limited series based on the acclaimed Kurt Vonnegut novel, from IM Global and FX Prods. Other projects include Hellhound On His Tail and Hot Rock.
