Template:Infobox Indian jurisdiction Champdani (Template:Lang-bn) is a town and a municipality in Hooghly district in the state of West Bengal, India. It is under Bhadreswar police station in Chandannagar subdivision.[1]

Geography

Champdani is located at 22°48′N 88°22′E / 22.8°N 88.37°E / 22.8; 88.37. It has an average elevation of 12 metres (39 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Champdani had a population of 103,232. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Champdani has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 74% and female literacy of 58%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
