Five great vows

[edit]
A sentence explaining the vow can be added for better understanding.
  1. Ahimsa - Not to hurt any living being by actions and thoughts.
  2. Satya - Not to lie in any circumstances.
  3. Asteya - 'Not to take anything if not given'
  4. Chastity for householders // Celibacy in action, words & thoughts for monks and nuns
  5. Aparigraha - detachment from material property
Ah, that is excellent! Thank you. So much better than my suggestion. Though I am not a Jane, I have much respect for your philosophy, and I reckon Jesus helped to bring the Western world out of barbarity by presenting the Eastern wisdom in our terms. In a word, Janism is the foundation of civilization for all people, and I love to see it well-represented. Take care. Grammar's Little Helper (talk) 04:12, 28 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jain monasticism

[edit]

Good catch in this article, जैन! The Sangha page is now a disambiguation page because its article has been moved to Sangha (Buddhism), so I've been using the AWB tool to disambiguate its What links here page. Started with more than 2,000 links! and have gotten the number down to just over a hundred. With all that, some links get incorrectly named, as in this case. So thank you very much for keeping abreast of things!  OUR Wikipedia (not "mine")! Paine  17:07, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. Stale drafts

[edit]

Information iconHello, जैन, I saw that you made a draft for a new article at User:जैन/Deogarh Jain Temples. Short term hosting of potentially valid articles and other reasonable content under development or in active use is usually acceptable. But in this case, you haven't edited your draft for a long time. If you wish to improve the draft yourself, please do. Otherwise, you may consider donating it to WikiProject Abandoned Drafts (a participant can help). Thank you. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 17:58, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding a certain other editor

[edit]

The user you reported here might also be a case of WP:CIR. Despite multiple (friendly) warnings, the same mistakes (such as copyright infringements, source cherry picking, selection of unreliable sources) keep happening. User is obviously not a vandal, so doesn't seem to be a case were the assumption of good faith has been proven false. Which leads to the conclusion that this might be a case were we should react to this behaviour, not because it's vandalism, but because the editor's strong personal-bias (see here) prevent meaningful contribution.

That, or I'm over-analyzing it and it's just disguised/gaming-the-system-style deliberate POV pushing. 198.84.253.202 (talk) 03:55, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Samanthathepirate: Sir, so many quotes can’t be added to a wiki page like this (see Wikipedia:QUOTEFARM). Moreover, the sources you cite aren’t reliable (see WP:RS). Please read Wikipedia policies to contribute positively. Your edits will be reverted by others and an admin will ban you if you continue this. -Nimit (talk) 17:08, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Gaṇitasārasan̄graha moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Gaṇitasārasan̄graha, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 17:17, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
