Plica vocalis[1] est una ex tunicis mucosis plicatis geminatis quae trans laryngem tensae sunt ad libram. Plicae vocales vibrant ut flumen aëris vocis ex pulmonibus expulsum per phonesin figurent.[2][3][4]
Plicae a nervo vago gubernatae sunt ut per inhalationem aperirentur, per animam comprimentem clauderentur, et per dicendem aut canendem vibrarentur. Sunt albae propter sanguis paucitatem circulationis.
Aves sonos vocales non producunt plicá vocalis sed vibrationibus mucosarum in syringe.
