Peacock‘s future is starting to look a little Grimm.

The streamer is developing a reboot of NBC’s supernatural drama, our sister site Deadline reports.

Grimm ran for six seasons (from 2011 to 2017) and followed Nick Burkhardt (played by David Giuntoli), the latest in a long line of Grimms, or slayers of fairytale monsters. These monsters were known as Wesen, though as the series progressed, Wesen accounted for most of Nick’s best friends and romantic interests. The cast also included Bitsie Tulloch, Claire Coffee, Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bree Turner, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz and Jacqueline Toboni.

The show was created by David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, who also served as co-showrunners. Both men are involved in the potential reboot, as are original series producers Lynn Kouf, Hazy Mills Productions and Universal Television. Josh Berman (Drop Dead Diva, CSI, The Blacklist) will write and executive-produce the new series .

A rep for Peacock told TVLine the streamer had no additional information to share.

The project could be a movie, our sister site Variety reports; sources tell TVLine that exactly what form the reboot will take is still being discussed.

Per Deadline, the project’s premise is being kept under wraps but likely would involve a way to draw in new viewers and existing fans of the original series.

Grimm‘s series finale aired in March 2017, with a flash-forward showing that Nick’s son, Kelly, grows up to be a Grimm who fights alongside his father, mother Adalind and half-sister Diana, as well as Monroe and Rosalee’s triplets.

In 2018, NBC was developing a female-led Grimm spinoff penned/executive-produced by Melissa Glen (Marvel’s Iron Fist); Greenwalt and Kouf would have served as consulting producers. That concept ended up not moving forward.
