Two Daughters Entertainment has secured a significant distribution deal for its animated hit “Moley,” bringing the beloved mole to Chinese audiences through streaming giants iQiyi and Youku.
The series, which already reaches viewers in more than 160 territories globally, will launch all 52 episodes of its first season in China on Feb. 28, offered in both Mandarin and English language versions.
The deal was facilitated via digital media distributor Jetsen Huashi Wangju, marking a strategic expansion into one of the world’s largest entertainment markets for the U.K.-based production company.
“This is an incredibly exciting moment for us,” said James Reatchlous, Founder and executive chair of Two Daughters Entertainment. “To see ‘Moley’ embraced by a market as vast and dynamic as China is a dream come true. Thanks to the hard work and tenacity of the Two Daughters team, in conjunction with Huashi, we are delighted to have a new IP launching in this region, and we’re honored to bring ‘Moley’s universal themes of adventure, friendship, and curiosity to Chinese families.”

The series, which began as bedtime stories Reatchlous created for his daughters, has grown into a global franchise, with distribution deals at Warner Bros. Discovery’s Boomerang across EMEA, POP in the U.K., Peacock and Max in the U.S., ZDF in Germany, and Globo in Brazil.
Peiyao Liu, CEO of Jetsen Huashi Wangju, said: “iQiyi and Youku are the perfect homes for ‘Moley,’ and we are delighted to introduce this charming and globally successful series to Chinese audiences. We believe ‘Moley’s heartwarming storytelling and engaging characters will resonate with families across the country.”
The expansion comes as Two Daughters Entertainment ramps up production on their first animated feature film, “The Land of Sometimes,” featuring voice talent including Mel Brooks, Helena Bonham Carter, Asa Butterfield and Ewan McGregor. The company recently signed with Zero Gravity Management for U.S. representation and hosted an industry reception at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to announce their arrival in Hollywood.
“Moley” was originally produced by Tony Nottage of Nottage Productions after Reatchlous conceived the character for his children. The series has since become a cornerstone of Two Daughters Entertainment’s growing animation portfolio.
