One of the leaders of the OAS, a violent terrorist organization begun by right-wing French political and military figures determined to prevent the French government form granting Algeria, a French colony, its independence and to keep it as part of France. The organization waged a bloody campaign from 1958-64 against both Algerian rebels and the French government. Susini was captured and twice sentenced to death for plotting the assassination of French president
