Schaefer will avoid missing any game time after having been sidelined for Monday's practice session. Sorokin was activated off injured reserve Friday after missing time due to a lower-body injury, and he served as David Rittich's backup during Saturday's home matchup against the Maple Leafs. Boqvist was scratched for the 16th time in 18 games when he sat out Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.
Boqvist had the first chance to replace Alexander Romanov (shoulder) in the lineup, but he didn't stick. Since Boqvist exited the lineup Nov. 28 versus the Flyers, the Islanders have rotated through call-ups for the last spot on the third pairing. Travis Mitchell went first, followed by Marshall Warren and now Cole McWard is getting a look. Boqvist remains on the NHL roster as an emergency option, but with just one helper in 12 contests this season, he has virtually no fantasy appeal unless he can claim a regular role.

Barzal has three assists in his last six games, which is a stark contrast to the 11 points, including eight helpers, that he put up in his previous nine outings. he has 32 points (10 goals, 22 assists) in 41 games this season, but he's struggling at the dot with a 38.3 winning percentage. Barzal qualifies at right wing in some formats, and that's where fantasy managers get their best fantasy value.
