A close friend of Sophia Loren, both are Godmothers of Drew Barrymore, Anna would bring young Drew - from age 8 until she was 12 - to Sophia's ranch outside Los Angeles where Drew would spend summers with Loren's two sons. (Jane magazine interview March 2007).

27-28 October 1999: Christie's auctioned the bulk of Marilyn Monroe's personal effects. In her will, Monroe expressed her desire that Strasberg or her executor, "distribute (these) among my friends, colleagues and those to whom I am devoted." He willed them to Anna, who never met her; the auction netted $12.3 million. She had declared that she would never sell Monroe's personal items after successfully suing Odyssey Auctions in 1994 from preventing the sale of items Monroe's former business manager Inez Melson had given to her sister, whose son had contracted with Odyssey. Julien's staged a second auction of Monroe's personal effects in 2005.
