STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Pete Davidson on Thursday revealed the first trailer for his new Peacock show, “Bupkis,” and it featured a very unexpected — and frankly terrifying — guest.
The born-and-raised Staten Islander appeared on Power 105.1 FM’s “Breakfast Club” with Charlamagne tha God for a NSFW chat about Davidson’s upcoming series and how it came to fruition, why he’s trying to model his career off Adam Sandler’s, and the incredible list of guest stars slated to make appearances. For those not in the know, the list is way longer than we originally thought.
The trailer begins at the 8:15 mark of the video below. The interview itself is mildly NSFW, so watch at your own risk.
Davidson revealed “Bupkis” has been three years in the making, and credited “Saturday Night Live” head honcho Lorne Michaels — Davidson’s former boss and current “Bupkis” executive producer — for getting legendary actor Joe Pesci on board.

“We had an actor attached to play this role, and he backed out at the last second and I didn’t know what to do,” said Davidson. “I called Lorne. and Lorne’s a wizard and he was like, ‘What about Pesci?’ I was like, ‘How? Why would you say it like that?’ The guy’s only done ‘The Irishman’ in the last 30 years. He was like, ‘You know, all he’s waiting for is a good part.’ Then, I met with [Pesci] and we kind of hit it off.”
As for that unexpected guest? It’s none other than Art the Clown from the “Terrifier” franchise. Created by fellow Staten Islander Damien Leone and produced by Staten Island-based Fuzz on the Lens Productions, “Terrifier” and “Terrifier 2″ have become new-age cult classics in the horror scene. “Terrifier 2″ alone grossed $11 million at the box office in 2022 despite a measly $250,000 budget.
As it turns out, Davidson is a big fan of the “Terrifier” films.
Leone took to Instagram to share his excitement.
“Cat’s out of the bag! Did you ever think Art the Clown would share the screen with Pete Davidson, Joe Pesci, Edie Falco, Ray Romano, Charlie Day, Steve Buscemi, Dave Attell, Shane Gillis, Simon Rex, Brad Garrett, Machine Gun Kelly, Bobby Cannavale and John Stewart?,” he wrote. “It was such an honor to be a part of this and I Can’t wait for you to see how Art is involved! This was a blast to film and this show is going to be nuts!”
Brothers Michael and Jason Leavy, co-founders of Staten Island-based Fuzz on the Lens Productions and part of the local team behind the box-office sensation, previously recounted to the Staten Island Advance/SILive.com their meet-up with Davidson while he was filming “Bupkis” on Staten Island.
“He really is a cool guy, very genuine, very humble,” Michael Leavy told the Advance/SILive.com in December 2022. “He loves Staten Island and he’s very, very supportive of it.”
“Bupkis” is set to premiere on May 4. Eight half-hour episodes of the comedy will be released on NBC’s streaming platform. The semi-autobiographical show was spotted filming across Staten Island and other parts of New York City throughout 2022. In October, production took over Marina Cafe in Great Kills, and in November, Davidson and a filming crew were spotted at Lacey’s Bridge Tavern in Elm Park.
Davidson is reportedly set to host “Saturday Night Live” on May 6 to hawk the new show.
