Jenny Walton, an artist and Vogue’s vintage-shopping columnist, knows a thing or two about taking things at her own pace. Walton is based in Milan and has a fashion sense that lives deliciously in the past. On the cobblestone streets of Italy’s fashion capital, Walton runs, walks, and bikes to and from the runways of Prada and Ferragamo in sparkling drop-waist vintage dresses and billowing skirts fastened with antique brooches. It’s evident Walton has a clear sense of what she likes and what makes her feel good. As Fashion Month comes to a close, she shared her best spots for eating, shopping, and reconnecting.
What’s your go-to restaurant for dinner?
Cucina Franca. It’s a small place, so book ahead. It has a great changing menu of wonderful dishes, and it’s perfect if you love trying a bunch of different dishes with a group.
Your go-to lunch in a pinch?
A panino at Bar Quadronno and a Campari soda. It’s 1960s perfection.
Your go-to pop-in for a beauty product?
Mazzolari is where the chic sciuras stop in for perfume, candles, and chic hair accessories.
Your go-to cobbler for a quick shoe fix?
Artigianoteca. Hands down.

You can find a sartorial on almost any block. Most of them are fabulous and not costly.

Taxis are impossible, so I take the bike-sharing options, and they’re wonderful. (Minus the cobblestone streets. I avoid those.)
