Wikidata:Events/Leveling Up Days 2024
- Welcome!
- The Wikidata Leveling Up Days is an online event designed to welcome new people to Wikidata and to provide an introduction to a selection of useful tools and topics so you can start getting involved with Wikidata. During 6 days of presentations, live editing and social events, we will cover the basis of what you need to know to start exploring and editing Wikidata. Designed as a space to exchange knowledge between newcomers and more experienced editors, the Leveling Up Days focuses on producing entry-level learning materials that participants can watch at their own pace before, during or after the event.
- Participation
- The sessions are open to everyone interested in Wikidata and curious to learn more. Seasoned editors are of course very welcome to join, share their experience with others and maybe even learn something new! The sessions will take place on the online platform Jitsi. Most sessions will be pre-recorded while the Q&A and discussions will take place live during the 6 days of the event, on April 5-7 and April 12-14. If you plan to attend the event, feel free to add your name on the participants list!
Please note that the entire initiative, including the presentations and discussions on various channels, is covered by the Code of Conduct for technical spaces. Please contribute in making the discussion spaces safe and welcoming for everyone.
- Video materials
- We want to give you the opportunity to watch the sessions at your own pace. Most content of the program will be available in video ahead of the event. You will find all the links in the program below. You can also find all the videos produced for the event in the Commons category and in this Youtube playlist.
- Contribute to the event
- There are various ways you can help newcomers and contribute to the event: translating the videos' captions, running self-organized sessions for your language community, and helping answer questions. Have a look at this page for the details.
- Discussions and help
- During and after the event, the Wikidata Help Telegram group will be used as asynchronous support channel. Feel free to join it and ask your questions there. Announcements and discussions about the event take place on this talk page. If you want to reach out to the organizers directly, feel free to contact Lea Lacroix (WMDE) (lea.lacroix_extwikimedia.de or @Auregann on Telegram).
