Uploads
[edit]I take pictures of things I happen to see and find interesting, or I think might be useful, but I do not actively look for them.
Feel free to ask me for other versions/details/variations of any of my pictures: if I am able to provide them I'll be glad to do so!
If you wish to use any of my pictures under conditions other than the ones I chose, feel free to ask for it. As a general rule I only apply free culture, copyleft licenses - if you need a different one, you should give me good reasons to grant it.
Tools
[edit]These are the tools I use to edit my pictures before uploading them to Commons.
- cropgui, to crop JPEG files losslessly[1]
- exiftool, to edit the metadata
- GIMP, for any lossy edit
- jpegoptim, to compress JPEG files
- jpegtran, to rotate JPEG files losslessly[2]
- optipng, to compress PNG files losslessly
I also use pattypan for bulk uploads.
All these tools are free (as in freedom) software.
