Requested move 15 July 2015
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: moved. This is either a case of consensus to move, or no consensus and default to the status quo. Either way we end up moving the articles. Jenks24 (talk) 14:10, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Ain't Nobody (Rufus and Chaka Khan song) → Ain't Nobody – Rufus and Chaka Khan song is the prominent and main topic. All the others mentioned in Ain't Nobody are secondary. Reflect the other similarly titled songs in disambiguation Ain't Nobody (disambiguation) and leave main page to the Rufus and Chaka Khan song. Relisted. - Oppose nomination is contrary to WP:Naming conventions (music) since the other songs have articles, leave well alone. This isn't Top of the Pops, we don't have to pick one song to hide the artist name as users have different tastes and interests. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:50, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- Support - Clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Unreal7 (talk) 22:37, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- Support. Even though the page was just moved in the past couple of days, it's clearly still the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Pageviews for yesterday:
- No reason to mess with the previous status quo. Dohn joe (talk) 13:45, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose. Firstly, by way of explanation, my son was telling about a serious music fan who had never heard of (inter alia) John Lennon. This is why Music Naming conventions says that there should not be a primary topic between songs (or albums) of the same name. --Richhoncho (talk) 13:24, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- Support - Looks generic at first, but there is no other challenging topic of the same name. I don't know why it was moved without discussion. If moved, I must remove disambiguation in other pages linking to it. George Ho (talk) 19:59, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose too generic, keep the dab as base name 76.120.162.73 (talk) 21:06, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- "Too generic" doesn't come into it when there's a primary topic. Unreal7 (talk) 10:58, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- Support. The evidence has only gotten clearer in the last few days that this is the definitive WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The article has received 5112 views between July 11 and 23. That's several times more than the other two topics have received in the entire month of July (Ain't Nobody (Faith Evans song): 477 and Ain't Nobody (Monica song): 334).--Cúchullain t/c 15:30, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- Support. The title is supposed to tell the reader the name of the subject, so it should be as close to the actual name as technically feasible. I don't know what music naming convention the opposers are reading. The one that comes up for me says, "a term may redirect to its primary topic."
