Requested move 24 October 2023
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: There is consensus to not move this article, but to move the second article and create a disambiguation page at the base title. (closed by non-admin page mover) BegbertBiggs (talk) 20:39, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
- Daisy Campbell (actress, born 2003) → Daisy Campbell
- Daisy Campbell → Daisy Campbell (silent film actress)
– Might be too soon, but hard to accept the status quo. Have to imagine that almost all pageviews are intended for the living person. Searches for the 1920s actress turn up few sources and none of more than passing mention. Alternatively, could make a dab at Daisy Campbell because Daisy Eris Campbell often omits her middle name (though not on book covers; i.e., that page title is OK). - Support I was looking to start this myself a few weeks ago but wasn't sure what to rename the dead actress to. I agree that the living actress is the primary topic based on Google search results and page views. – Meena • 18:01, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose, not convinced there's a PRIMARYTOPIC by long-term significance.--Ortizesp (talk) 23:59, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Ortizesp: Would you mind clarifying your vote? Would you support moving Daisy Campbell to Daisy Campbell (silent film actress) and making Daisy Campbell a three-person dab page? I'll also note the word enduring in WP:PT2's definition of long-term significance. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 00:18, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- I'd support the second move, yes. My bad, DAB should be at base name. Ortizesp (talk) 00:38, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose as proposed, but would support Daisy Campbell → Daisy Campbell (silent film actress) and creation of a Daisy Campbell disambiguation page that would list all three women, per question by Hameltion and reply by Ortizesp. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 08:51, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose first, support second, Daisy Campbell → Daisy Campbell (silent film actress), and the three person dab. Skynxnex (talk) 12:26, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Support 2nd and possible disambiguate. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:29, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose 1st move, Support 2nd move, and create a disambiguation page at the basename that includes these two Daisy Campbells (plus Daisy Eris Campbell). Paintspot Infez (talk) 21:47, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Support second move, oppose first move for now. The living actress' page was created so recently that I'm not yet comfortable identifying her as the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, but at the same time I find it unlikely that the silent film actress is the PTOPIC either (for the reasons laid out by nom). Therefore, I think a WP:NOPRIMARY solution is best until we have more information on the living actress' usage stats. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 15:10, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- Disambiguate both per CrouchSwale - I wouldn't move both articles as the base name linked from articles would end up in the wrong place and would be confusing. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 18:50, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose first, support second. No primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:50, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
Article is nearly all not about its subject
editIt is nearly all about a soap opera / character, and serves as publicity.
There is next to nothing about the person who is the subject of the article.
They're are many Wikipedia articles like this. Without proper editorial oversight of content Wikipedia is used as a cheap medium of publicity and not as an actual encyclopaedia in the sphere of 'celebrities'. 86.160.95.7 (talk) 07:57, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
