[edit]- February 6 – Google announces Bard, a generative artificial intelligence chatbot powered by LaMDA.[2]
March
[edit]- March 30 – AutoGPT is released, an open-source "AI agent" that given a goal in natural language, will attempt to achieve it by breaking it into sub-tasks.[3]
April
[edit]- April 28 – Mistral AI, a French artificial intelligence startup specialized in open-weight large language models, is founded.[4]
May
[edit]- May 30 – Hundreds of artificial intelligence experts and other notable figures sign the Statement on AI Risk: "Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war."[5]
