The 2025 FIM Moto2 World Championship is the intermediate class of the 77th FIM Road Racing World Championship season.
Teams and riders
All teams will use series-specified Pirelli tyres and Triumph 765cc 3-cylinder engines.[29][30]
Team changes
- Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team left the championship after Yamaha and VR46 ended their three-year partnership.[31] They were replaced by Blu Cru Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team, which opted to run the Boscoscuro chassis instead of the Kalex.[32]
- Elf Marc VDS Racing Team ended their 13-year partnership with Kalex and also switched to Boscoscuro.[33]
Rider changes
- 2024 Moto3 World Champion David Alonso will make his intermediate class debut with the Aspar Team. He will be joined by Daniel Holgado, who finished second to Alonso in 2024.
- Collin Veijer will make his intermediate class debut this season with Red Bull KTM Ajo, replacing Celestino Vietti, who switches to Speed Up Racing, replacing Fermín Aldeguer, who steps up to the premier class with Gresini Racing.
- Jake Dixon left the Aspar Team to join forces with Elf Marc VDS Racing, replacing Tony Arbolino, who links up with the Pramac Yamaha Moto2 Team. He will be paired up alongside Izan Guevara, who left the Aspar Team after two seasons.
- Jeremy Alcoba left the championship to join the 2025 Supersport World Championship.
- Darryn Binder left Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP after two seasons to join Gresini Racing, switching teams with Manuel González, who joins Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP in place of Binder.
- 2024 Supersport World Championship champion Adrián Huertas will make his Grand Prix debut with Italtrans Racing this season. He will replace Dennis Foggia, who will return to the 2025 Moto3 World Championship with the Aspar Team.
- Ayumu Sasaki moves to RW-Idrofogia Racing GP on a new two-year deal, replacing Barry Baltus, who joins Fantic Racing, taking over the seat from Xavi Cardelús, who joins the 2025 Supersport World Championship.
- Iván Ortolá will make his intermediate class debut with MT Helmets-MSi, replacing 2024 Moto2 World Champion Ai Ogura, who steps up to the premier class with Trackhouse Racing.
- Yuki Kunii will return to the world championship, making his intermediate class debut with Idemitsu Honda Team Asia, replacing Somkiat Chantra, who steps up to the premier class with LCR Honda.
- Jorge Navarro will make his full-time return to the intermediate class for the first time since 2022, replacing Xavier Artigas at Forward Racing.
Mid-season changes
- Sergio García will miss the season opener at Thailand following an injury sustained during the last official tests in Jerez. He will be replaced by MotoE rider Óscar Gutiérrez.
