Gene Schoor wrote a "kiddie biography" of Cobb(as he did with many famous ballplayers) and mention was made of the 1912 knife attack,although not of anybody dying.("It wasn't Cobb who quit,it was the mugs")

Left unmentioned was that Cobb would heckle Babe Ruth by hinting he was half-Black and shouldn't be allowed on the field. When t he yanks and Tigers played each other in the 1920's, things frequently got ugly
