Tawalbe's Demise
[edit]"On April 6, Mahmoud Tawalbe and two other militants went into a house so as to get close enough to a tank or armored D-9 bulldozer to plant a bomb. Tawalbe and another militant were killed during the action. A British military expert working in the camp for Amnesty International reported that a D9 driver saw him, and subsequently rammed a wall down onto him and one of his fighters."
The part about a British military expert is confusing. He examined the scene afterwards and "surmized" (the source's words) that Tawalbe was attempting to be close enough to plant a bomb on a vehicle and that the driver might have rammed the building after seeing him. Here's the full quote from the CNN source.
"TIME visited the rubble of the house where Tawalbe died. The three-story structure shows signs of attack from two directions. One wall was charred by fire; the wall on the other side had collapsed. David Holley, a British military expert working in the camp for Amnesty International, deduces from the bomb craters and tank tracks that Tawalbe and the two fighters who accompanied him went into the house to get close enough to a tank or D-9 to plant explosives on it; the Palestinians' bombs, says Holley, were useless unless they were placed directly on the armor of a vehicle. Holley surmises that the bulldozer driver saw the Palestinians and rammed the wall down on top of Tawalbe."
So what is in the article badly summarizes what the source says. On Tawalbe's Wikipedia page, the same source is summarized far better as such.
"Time visited the rubble of the house where Tawalbe died with a British military expert working in the camp for Amnesty International, David Holley. They reported that "the three-story structure shows signs of attack from two directions. One wall was charred by fire; the wall on the other side had collapsed." Holley deduced from the tank tracks and bomb craters that Tawalbe was killed by an alert IDF Caterpillar D9 armored bulldozer whose operator thwarted an attempt by Tawalbe and his gunmen to plant a bomb on the armour of a passing Israeli Armored fighting vehicle, probably by ramming the wall onto him."
Can I replace the quoted material at top with the more accurate summary below? ItsRainingCatsAndDogsAndMen (talk) 08:21, 22 June 2023 (UTC)

Reference 17 ab&c & 74 are all referring to the first reference under Bibliography, the Yearbook of the United Nations. Reference 17 ab&c can be changed the same format as 74 is, the page which 17 refers to is 434.
Also the Author of the Yearbook is not Bernan Press, it does have a list on page 6 of the archive of who contributed. CapnJackDaniels (talk) 02:44, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
