Why was this removed?
[edit]"The Tunnel(s) are named after Alabama Governor George C Wallace who was a documented racist. Wallace was known for purposely preventing African Americans from entering higher levels of education."
It is the truth.
- It is the truth, but this article is about the tunnels only. It was already stated that the tunnels are named after him in the infobox (and it is also obvious in the prose). The information on the man himself belongs in the article on him, and it extensively covered there, Stand in the Schoolhouse Door, African-American Civil Rights Movement (1955–1968) and elsewhere. If you want to find a reliable source that links his racism and these tunnels into one, go ahead. (He was in office when they were completed, part of the reason that they were named for him. But I can't even find a reliable source that states that in a verifiable way.) Cheers, Altairisfar (talk) 14:44, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
A section could (should?) be added about the naming controversy and efforts to rename the tunnel.24.236.92.77 (talk) 16:09, 17 December 2021 (UTC) [1]

New bridge superseding tunnel in Mobile.
[edit]There are plans to expand the I-10 corridor, and while the tunnel will not be outright replaced, it will be bypassed by the new state-of-the-art facility, thus I believe it should be included in this article, possibly even its own page. Roketman18 (talk) 02:05, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
Toll Bridge Replacement
[edit]Does anyone else think that the proposed Toll Bridge Replacement should be talked about more in this article? And how there was massive opposition to it when it was announced. NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 20:21, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
