[edit]It seems that the national championships [AAU] were held in Sacramento and not the selections which occured in South Lake Tahoe later.Hines won there in 10 seconds flat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.177.187.86 (talk) 14:59, 28 November 2002 (UTC)
Real time?
[edit]What does this mean: setting 9.9 (manual timing), with a real time of 10.03 Was there electronic timing as well, with the manual timing being the "official" one? 143.252.80.100 (talk) 15:05, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
article omitted black power salute at 1968 awards ceremony
[edit]The article omits what Jim Hines was probably most famous for - when he and the Silver medalist, also from the U.S., put black gloves on one hand each, and raised an arm in a black power salute at the awards ceremony for the 1968 Olympic 100 meter race. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hikebikeswim (talk • contribs) 16:49, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Its not in the article because you have the wrong person in mind. That scene is heavily covered in the proper articles for 200 metres winner Tommie Smith and bronze medalist John Carlos. The subject even has its own article about it. 1968 Olympics Black Power salute Trackinfo (talk) 00:54, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
