[edit]If you have medical knowledge yourself, Do not fall pray to first doctor (Please be careful in third countries). Please ask as many questions you till you are satisfied. It is possible to remember every thing,or one forget some important point. For example, how old she is pregnant. Do not forget to get through WIKIPEDIA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs)
- Ummm ... what? Can you please rewrite this entry for clarity? I have no idea what your statement is supposed to mean. Thanks, Hu Gadarn 14:55, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
"Contraindications"?
[edit]Ummm ... what? Is it possible to use another word/ phrase here or if not at least a hyperlink? I'm on this drug and have never heard of "contraindications" before. The word has no meaning to me. Thanks, Hu Gadarn 14:55, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- "Indications" are the reasons you'd take a drug - high blood pressure in this case. "Contra-indications" are the reasons you'd avoid taking it - pregnancy being a common contraindication for many drugs. The usage is standard. Alec.brady 08:31, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Other benefits
[edit]ACE inhibitor says "Because ramipril has been shown to reduce mortality rates even among patient groups not suffering from hypertension, there is widespread belief that ramipril's benefits may extend beyond those of the general abilities it holds in common with other members of the ACE inhibitor class." If we can source/verify that, perhaps it can go in this article. Rod57 (talk) 03:25, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Ramipril may have been shown in the manufacturer`s literature to reduce mortality rates but, according to their own information leaflet (a leaflet is provided in each pack in the UK)Ramipril has an impressive list of contra-indications. To recommend a drug such as Ramipril without full disclosure of all the facts could be seen to be mis-leading.(User:Beth52) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.22.171.190 (talk) 19:17, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
I was pretty sure my insomnia was a side-effect of the Ramipril, but the article doesn't mention it, so I'll have to re-read all my leaflets!
Half life ist wrong
[edit]The article states half life is 2-4 hours.Actually that's only for the first stage oft distribution, effective (?) half life is much longer, see http://www.rxmed.com/b.main/b2.pharmaceutical/b2.1.monographs/CPS-%20Monographs/CPS-%20%28General%20Monographs-%20A%29/ALTACE.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.120.9.253 (talk) 08:28, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
