위키백과:봇 정책/en

위키백과, 우리 모두의 백과사전.
  • English: This wiki uses the standard bot policy. It allows global bots, but does not allow automatic approval that stewards grants directly.

Following is the bot policy for the Korean Wikipedia.

Bot is a tool to make repetitive jobs easier, like changing categories or updating some lists. Bot is part of Wikipedia user system, and must be used according to the Korean Wikipedia's Multiple Accounts policy. It is not required to run bots if you are experienced editor, so do not ask someone else to run a bot just because they are experienced. You can ask simple bot edit at Bot Edit Request page.

All bots

[편집]

All bots on Korean Wikipedia...

  • must comply with Standard Bot Policy.
  • must comply with Korean Wikipedia policies and guidelines (policy hereinafter). This means, any bot operator (botop hereinafter) must be familiar with them.
    • Some bots offers feature that is not compliant with Korean Wikipedia's policy. Botop must ensure they are not implemented in Korean Wikipedia.
    • If bot continues to violate Korean Wikipedia policy, bot will be blocked under the block policy.
  • All botop must be able to explain why the bot is needed and how it functions.
  • Bot needs to have their own account, and bot account needs to have "bot" or "봇" (note: Korean for "Bot").
  • Botop must use {{}} template in bot's userpage and disclose who is operating the bot. (Compliance with Multiple account policy)
  • Bot should use an edit summary that signals the edit as a bot edit.
  • Quotation of books, title of a book, other intentional quotes must not be edited without consensus.
    • Quotation in {{웹 인용}} ({{Cite web}}) is a "quotation", and should not be edited. (References may be included without citation templates.)
  • Individual tracking of massive bot edits are time-consuming and often impossible, so botop should enter edit summary correctly. Therefore, do not add any edit summary unrelated to the edits.
    • E.g. Saying "Added category" but in fact not adding the categories.
  • For articles related to Unicode, do not remove or "clean up" Unicode. (Special emphasis on features provided by bot frameworks.)
  • Otherwise if bot's operation has wide impact on Korean Wikipedia's articles, there must be a consensus prior to running the bot.
    • Do not make controversial areas where editors might start disputes reckless edits, etc etc.
  • Bot must be compliant with {{bots}}, {{nobots}}, and other bots.

Bots without bot flags

[편집]
  • Bots without bot flag must not edit user talks, or otherwise notify other users. Such edits must be performs after bot flags are granted.

Request for bot flags

[편집]

It is permitted to run bots without bot flag, so it is fine to run bots without BRFA. However if you think bot is stable enough, you can ask for the bot flag.

  • Please make at least 100 test edits, so make sure it is stable.
  • Please explain your bot's function clearly.
    • Do not add new functionality or propose new one during BRFA process. New features need stabilization and repeated unstable operations will negatively impact BRFA.
  • Explain how it helps Wikipedia.
    • Example: "This bot will benefit Korean Wikipedia by blah blah blah way. I've never seen bots doing this work in Korean Wikipedia".
    • Bureaucrats understands all policies on bot policy. Do not request bot flag with reasons written in policy (i.e. "We can eliminate 60 seconds speed limit") as a reason.
  • Process and duration of BRFA can be modified if the bot has other bot operation history inside Korean Wikipedia or other wikimedia wikis.
