Lori (Armenie: Լոռի) is a province (marz) o Armenie. It is in the north o the kintra, borderin Georgie. Its caipital is Vanadzor an Stepanavan is its seicont lairgest ceety. It is hame tae the UNESCO Warld Heritage Steids o Haghpat an Sanahin an the well-preservit Akhtala monastery, whaur Armenies, Georgies, an Greeks mak an annual pilgrimage on September 20-21.[1]
It wis affectit severely bi the 1988 Spitak yirdquauk.
Lori is the birthplace o several famous Armenies includin muisicker Harutyun Sayatyan (better kent as Sayat-Nova), poet Hovhannes Tumanyan, Soviet aircraft designer Artem Mikoyan, an Soviet statesman Anastas Mikoyan.
