Bishop's Castle is a small market town and civil parish in Shropshire, a county in England. In the 2011 census, it had 1,893 people living there.
The town is close to the border with Powys, a county of Wales. It is 20 miles (30 km) north-west of Ludlow and about 20 miles (30 km) south-west of Shrewsbury, the county town. It is surrounded by hills and in 2008 it won a "Walkers are Welcome Town" award.
It is in a very agricultural area. A lot of old buildings, such as Tudor buildings, still stand in the town. It is known for its diverse community which includes artists, musicians, writers and craftspeople all living in or around the town.
The town's name in Welsh is Trefesgob which roughly translates into English as "Bishop's Town".
Bishop's Castle has two small breweries, including the Three Tuns, which is the UK's oldest brewery.
