I was also tempted by this sentence
I'd forgotten that line. It struck me very oddly too. Well, I accepted the challenge as well. I loathed this book.
probably the strangest line in the book! how can an serious, accredited author want to even put that in a published book with her name on it?! 💀
I just read that line and I’ve come to look at the reviews to see if anyone else found it strange too. What a weird comparison for that character to make.
Yeah, that line hit me wrong too. It essentially inserted the author into the story in a really jarring way. Also didn't like her book

It absolutely deserves the one star, for this line and a couple of others alone.

Umm you need to finish this one! The last 1/4 of the book was 🤯 guurl you missed out!! If you had finished it you would have gave it way more than a 1 star

I was thinking the same thing when I read that.
I read this line and thought, “Ah, an author who doesn’t understand the purpose of a book review.”
So, where is the review?? Why even rate and comment if you are not going to write something to explain it.

I definitely found that petty of the author as well, but later on I was able to pull a quote from her book to describe this book. “The writing was as disappointing and mediocre as the plot…”
I agree. I thought the book was incredibly boring and was honestly really hard to finish.
