same as LAU?
[edit]Isn't this the same as LAU (P782)? The list provided by eurostat and the of Gemeindeschlüssel gives the impression. In that case these properties should probably be merged to be more usable (or better understood) internationally. --JonnyJD (talk) 23:16, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
- It is the same as LAU and NUTS codes for other EU states and EU membership candidates. All of them should be merged. --Septembermorgen (talk) 21:58, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- I do not know about Germany, but the Swedish municipality codes have a much longer history than any EU-code, even if many of them are identical today. (Not all of them are identical since EU recognize regions that the Swedish authorities do not recognize.) Saying that a Swedish municipality had LAU-code 0123 as of 1952, would be a falsification. -- Lavallen (talk) 18:12, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- You're right, the Wikipedia page states out that the German municipality key (P439) isn't the same as NUTS-Code: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amtlicher_Gemeindeschl%C3%BCssel The German municipality key (P439) will be depracted by the German regional key (P1388) in the long run.
