This book started well for me. I liked the spooky setting, I was interested to see where the plot would go and I really liked the writing. If I hadn't listened to the audiobook, which was really good, I'm sure I would have highlighted a lot in this one.
Those were the only positives for me, though. For the most part the story dragged for me. There were twists I didn't see coming, but they still failed to wow me. I can't say that I'm happy with the ending. When I look back at the story as a whole, I need everything to make sense and everything needs to fall into place in the end, without leaving me with unanswered questions. This book didn't give me that.

I have a couple of this author's previous books on my tbr, but I picked this one to be my first read by her, because it sounded interesting. I, too, had a lot of questions at the end. I feel better at the end of a book when I feel all questions are answered.

I agree with your review. This book was well written but at the twist I thought, WHAT??? I still don't think it made sense. I don't see how everything resolved the way it did In the end after all that had happened. Also, the coincidences did not ring true to me

Why certain things happened the way they did didn't make much sense to me, either.

I've been listening to more audiobooks lately and a lot of the times those really make the experience more bearable 🤧 but at least you liked the writing! Too bad the content itself didn't match up.

Hey, Snejz 👋🏽 With audiobooks it always tricky, sometimes if there is a series or a book and I have already imagined that this character sounds like this then, and midway it gets boring I can't pick up audiobook cuz my mind won't comprehend 😝 but the audiobook for this book was quite good. Sorry it didn't fulfill your expectations but have you read No Exit by Taylor Adams it's amazing, if you love dark setting and thriller its good and Hulu is releasing the movie this month around 22th. Hope you have a wonderful next read 🔥

I haven't read No Exit. I don't like reading about people who are kidnapped and/or confined in small spaces, so that one wouldn't be for me. 😬

Too many unanswered questions. Here’s one - Like, how did that actress October die? If I remember right, it was in a bathtub? Which means, Robin kills every woman who comes in the way of her marriage with Adam. Why was Amelia’s death abrupt? I think I was expecting a different twist. A little darker. What do you think?

Totally agree. I kept reading even though my mind kept wandering because I thought or hoped it was going somewhere great. But the twists just didn’t do it for me. I actually said out loud I read that book for that?
