This was actually really nice and I enjoyed it a lot! I was definitely very close to rating this 4 stars.
Damiano is a cruel and heartless mafioso and Jordan meets him when he pretends to be Raffaele’s boyfriend, who happens to be Damiano’s stepbrother. Jordan is already intrigued by Damiano from the start, but the man is extremely closed-off and also seems to scare every single person in his own family.
However, when Damiano and Jordan get kidnapped together, they have no one to lean on but each other. This leads them to form a very unhealthy attachment and they become completely obsessed.
The reason this book worked so well for me was because of how Damiano treated Jordan. Rather than be rude and dismissive of Jordan, as is often the case with tropes like these, he was quite tender and even soft towards him. This was the true definition of 'I hate everyone in the world, but you' and I love that so much.

@Kati — hahah well, I was😅 I feel like it could have gone either way for me, but 4 stars seems a bit too high somehow. Especially when I compare it to some of the others ratings I gave to this series😬 It was one of my favs so far, though! Anyway, thanks🖤 I was happy I enjoyed it too😌
Glad you enjoyed it, Imme! I wish I could have felt the same 😅 I see you liked JABU least which is next on my list 😬 So many polarising reviews out there, I keep putting it off!
@Elisa — Ah yes, I saw you didn’t like this one much🫤 That’s unfortunate, for sure, but since you didn’t like this one much due to finding the MCs unlikable, then I don’t doubt JABU will most likely not be your fav either😅 The MCs are terrible and it was a dreadful relationship🥲 Fingers crossed it’ll work better for you, though!

I had a feeling you'd like the relationship dynamic here! I'm glad to see you enjoyed it. Maybe you can give it 3.75 stars, lol.
@Rebecca — You were right😉 I very much love dynamics like these! 3.75 stars would’ve probably been pretty ideal, but I only ever use half stars, and no quarter stars😅🤷🏻♀️
i’m not really a fan of this series from AH, only love her fantasy ones 😅😂 but happy to see you’re enjoying them. i heard that this one was quite similar to the previous ones in the series, what do you think? 🤔
@Iman — Hmm, I think this one is perhaps a bit similar to book 6, which was actually my favourite, but it’s quite different from a lot of the others. The settings vary a lot with all the books haha; that’s why they’re all still so enjoyable to me even though there are so many of them🤣
What is it about those moody men we like so much? I love when you say "I hate every at one in the world but you" gah, love that too!
Glad you liked it. Honestly if it was any other author I’d probably given it about 3-3.5 stars because I wanted more but for some reason AH is so addictive to me that I always round up.
@Megan — hahah that make sense, honestly! Sometimes about this author just always works so damn well😍 And that’s even with the knowledge that she never gives us enough about a couple. I’m always left wanting more😅
@Megan — Oh, and Lewis was no one🤣 I confused Raffaele’s name with the name of another character I read about a little while ago that was also in a boss/PA romance🥴 Anyway, I corrected the name now haha
@Vanna — Thankss :) This series is instant-read for me too, I’m not so sure about the rest of this author’s books, but maybe soon ;)
Would you say that you felt like the characters equally liked each other or was it more of a one sided love story ? Is the ending HEA? This series is so popular but I’ve been staying away cos it seems like most relationships seem to be hate filled 🙈
@Jess — No, I think they did both really love each other fully and it does have a HEA! There are definitely a few more “hate”-filled romances in this series, but I didn’t like those installments either so you can recognize them by the bad rating I’ve given them LOL
