SF Galore.
An old anthology with 50 short science fiction tales, written by several of the most famous and not so famous Sci-Fi authors of the time, circa 1950’s.
To be honest most of these authors don’t ring a bell and totally escape my limited frame of knowledge for this genre, although pleased to find some remarkable figures I already knew, like Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Robert A. Heinlein, Fritz Leiber, Theodore Sturgeon and a few others more. Most of the rest I never heard before, but always happy to add a new name to my list of ‘done and sampled’.
A somewhat outdated collection, easy to tell by the style of writing, themes treated and the general feeling of the stories, not to mention the publication date of course. Some, maybe many, of these stories didn’t age so well, but the grand majority were still reasonably enjoyable, on the whole. A mixed bag too, being half Meh and half Good or better; noting Meh is just ok, as long it’s not 1 or zero stars, which is crap.
Go for the Best, consider the Good, whatever the Meh.

Almost half way and everything points to another 3-star collection. Can never escape the mixed bag rule lol. Thank you Paulette :) !

Meh, I've seen better collections, but there should be a few free domain stories here and there :p. Thank you Saranya!
Holy moly what an epic roundup! It’s interesting to look back at how far we come and how dated these stories are now but I like that the majority were still enjoyable. Some iconic authors in there. Fantastic review Fede!

Wow! It must have taken you some time to include all those links, in English and Spanish! It would have taken me some time anyway. Judging by the number of links you must have read a lot of these before?
Ian wrote: "Wow! It must have taken you some time to include all those links, in English and Spanish! It would have taken me some time anyway. Judging by the number of links you must have read a lot of these b..."Oh it was nothing Ian. All of these stories are between 5 to 10 pages only. Easy-peasy. A lot of it is just copy-paste really, I have some templates and I mainly just fill in the blanks with a review :p. According to GR I started this August 15 and finished it just yesterday. I read none of these before I think, but I could be wrong, my memory is terrible at best lol.
The only two classic sci-fi authors I know are Arthur C Clarke, HG Wells, Jules Verne and Isaac Asimov. :D This seems like a good way of discovering some unheralded names. Fifty is way too many for a single collection, but I'll keep note of your favourites. Wonderful review, Feddie! ♡
Aside from Isaac Asimov, none of the authors were recognizable names to me - which goes to show how science fiction is most certainly my least explored/touched genre. But, with an eclectic range, I'm happy to hear that it was a slightly enjoyable read for you, Federico, great review. ☺️
Rosh ~catching up slowly~ wrote: "The only two classic sci-fi authors I know are Arthur C Clarke, HG Wells, Jules Verne and Isaac Asimov. :D..."Ahh those two authors sure hog all the fame most of the time lol xD. I really need to read more of them sometime in the future, read some but not enough methinks. Thank you Rosh! I can't rec this collection but hope you enjoy some if you give them a try :)
Amina wrote: "Aside from Isaac Asimov, none of the authors were recognizable names to me - which goes to show how science fiction is most certainly my least explored/touched genre. Never hurts to try them out, if only with a short story just to scratch them off the list lol. Thank you so much Amina!
Same here, Fede, I consider myself a lover of the genre, but failed to recognize many names except the ones you mention. Gret review, too bad so many of the stories were one to no star ratings.
inciminci wrote: "Same here, Fede, I consider myself a lover of the genre, but failed to recognize many names except the ones you mention. Probably unknown even at the time, and the reason why there's so much Meh in this book after all lol xD. Thank you for the helpful input Inci <3
I only recognized the names of two authors here. The rest are Martians to me! 👽Wonderful review, Fed! it is a shame that most of the stories sucked.
Debbie Y wrote: "I only recognized the names of two authors here. The rest are Martians to me! 👽Wonderful review, Fed! it is a shame that most of the stories sucked."Meh, just half sucked, maybe lol :p. Thank you Debbie!
Baba wrote: "I just appreciate the time and effort it took to rate each and every short story!"Ah it was easy, all these stories are so short I ended up doing like five or six a day lol. Thank you Baba :) !

❤️ I have mixed feelings about anthologies. Federico... because sometimes just one terrible short story can ruin the entire book for you. 😅 Great review!
➦Paulette & Her Sexy Alphas❥ wrote: "❤️ I have mixed feelings about anthologies. Federico... because sometimes just one terrible short story can ruin the entire book for you. 😅 Great review!"Anthologies are usually always mixed, Paulette. No hay around it lol. Thank you so much ;)
Hehe... those one-liners for some of the stories are too good! Sounds like a regular collection with hits and misses. Given that they are older stories, the scales will tilt a bit! Superb review, Federico! :)
That’s a lot of stories for one book. Cool window through time though, allowing you to see such a mix of stories they were coming up with back then. And one of them clearly earned your full five stars. Shame some are so outdated, but that’s to be expected. Good review, Federico.

So far they do the trick to remind me what I read, but time will tell later on lol. Thank you Srivalli!

I didn’t recognize a single author on that long list. Impressive that you made it through all 50 stories. Fabulous review, Fede, glad there wasn’t too much crap in this mixed bag. 😊

Nancy wrote: "I didn’t recognize a single author on that long list. Impressive that you made it through all 50 stories. Thank you so much Nancy <3
Luna wrote: "Great review per usual Federico. Man that is a heck of a lot of sci fi :)"Thank you Luna! Indeed. I think I've fulfilled my SF quota for some time now lol :p
awesome review, federico! at least you’re able to find some new authors and possibly add theirs works to your list!

Good review Federico. Sci-Fi overload, but I bet you learned a lot about future possibilities. Any green men in there?
