Deleted pages

I have deleted 19 pages - the biggest part of the wikipedia - who were not written in the Nauruan language and were very short or totally empty. Now can the Nauruan wikipedia really grow! I hope this wikipedia will be better as soon as possible. Maybe somebody has a name in Nauruan for "Pages to be deleted", an important page that must come here as soon as possible. The 19 removals have I done without discussion, because users wanted them deleted and everybody knew they were not in Nauruan. Belgian man 21:44, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Nauruan projects

The Nauruan wikiquote, wikibooks and wiktionary are almost empty. If somebody has experience with Nauruan language and/or such a project, you can eventually work a bit on one of these projects. The wikiquote hasn't got a logo (!). Belgian man 18:05, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

It is possible now to ask a new name, at an admin. It can only be done if you have less than 5000 contributions... Greets everyone, Belgian man 13:27, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

200

We've 200 articles now! Let's try to catch up with the Occidental and Moldovan editions! Belgian man 18:23, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, now it is very important 1. to have the Nauruan translations for all country names, and then 2. to correct the current country articles according to the "sample article" Norwei. Until we have all Nauruan country names we shouldn't make any new country articles. I hope Meibitobure can give them us soon; he already did a great job, and I hope he goes on for a long time...! Ekamawir omo -- CdaMVvWgS 20:00, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed... Would it be possible to translate the not-in-bold country names on User:CdaMVvWgS? Belgian man 17:30, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Nauruan translation of "Wikipedia"

We have now three possibilities to translate the word "Wikipedia" in Nauruan language:

  • Option 1: Wikipidiya: A mix of the Nauruan word for "encyclopedia", "entsikropidiya", and "wiki". In my opinion this is the best Nauruan word, because it is also usual in other wikipedia edition to translate "Wikipedia" in a proper way in their languages (i.e. French, Galego, Occidental, etc.).
  • Option 2: Wikipidia: A word proposed by Meibitobure. Would be also a good option, but I think "Wikipidiya" sounds and looks a bit more like typical Nauruan.
  • Option 3: Wikipedia: We keep "Wikipedia". Also possible, but in my opinion when it is possible to have an own Nauruan word, then we should take it.

I can contact User:Jon Harald Søby to upload a remake of the logo (he already did the current version) with "Wikipidiya - entsikropidiya eko pumwen", if you agree with me. I really think that this would be the best solution. Ekamawir omo -- CdaMVvWgS 20:17, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Option 1, i.e. Wikipidiya is the best in my opinion and I think the discussion about the name is needless, I hope to see new logo quicker than the "uploaaaaaaded" of the current version ;P --Artur Lion 23:45, 19 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
OK, Option 1 is a good choise... Success! Belgian man 17:42, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea? The lay-out comes from our biggest rival qua number of articles: Occidental/Interlingue, ie:. Most of the text isn't translated yet. Belgian man 17:42, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Yiddish Wikipedia catched up with us. They have 208 articles now, we are on a 206. We are between the Yiddish and Ilokano editions now, but the Ilokano edition only has 187 articles :-) Belgian man 17:40, 11 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well Belgian Man than we will have to speed up the article creation. Geograaf a.k.a. Netherlands girl 19:34, 20 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, but my Nauruan language knowledge is still too bad :( We wait for Meibitobure... Or grammar information on the German or English Wikipedia. I only do the control work of the Recentchanges now. Belgian man 16:06, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to adopt this pretty main page, already today. But I let the honour to author Geograaf... Belgian man 20:32, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm all for it. / Jon Harald Søby 20:41, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
OK, if Geograaf doesn't change it by herself (she left us for a week), i'll change it within ten minutes. Belgian man 20:50, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Interwiki Bot Status

Hi. I would like to get my interwiki bot YurikBot marked as a bot in your language. The bot is already operating in almost 50 languages, and it would lower the server load and improve the quality of articles if all interwikies are updated at the same time. You can read more or ask questions here. I always run the latest version of the Pywikipediabot (i am also one of the developers of this project). The request for the bot status is here. Please support. Thank you. --Yurik (en) 20:25, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(supported :-) ) Belgian man 12:39, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interwiki Bot Status 2

I request that User:Soulbot get a bot flag. The bot will do Interwiki work (interwiki.py) across more than 70 Wikipedias, on articles mainly about organic species, but also on some biographies and other non-ambigous articles. Editing many wikipedias at once is more effective and saves bandwidth. I therefore ask for bot-status here on na.wikipedia. See en:Special:Contributions/Soulbot to get an idea of what the bot is doing, and no:Bruker:Soulbot for the current status on different Wikipedias. Best regards, Soulkeeper / Soulbot 13:41, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Belgian man 11:36, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
