Data type

[edit]

Surely the data type should be external ID rather than string? This ought to be appearing in the IDs part of an item's page. Jheald (talk) 19:04, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. @MSGJ: You created this property. Would you mind changing it to external-id if that is possible? --Entbert (talk) 21:35, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if I made a mistake. I have asked what can be done at Wikidata:Project chat#Change property type MSGJ (talk) 21:21, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is now Fixed — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:18, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deutsche Bahn also assigns codes to electrical components of the rail network like instance of (P31) rail transport electrical substation (Q803616), for example see Langenfeld substation (Q64182999). I don't think these would fit as a subclass of the three current allowed values.

Spotted this while working on the respective mix'n'match catalog. Although I'm unsure whether these objects and/or uses are relevant for Wikidata. --Lokfahrer (talk) 10:27, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
